What we really need

A minimalistic lifestyle is the need of the hour, a sense of care and belonging is what humans deeply desire, a strong urge to be grounded and to be humble is what our true self cries for, but we keep feeding it with the perils of consumerism. All these said attributes can be achieved only when you lead a minimalistic life. Minimalism in simple terms is having only that which is necessary, focusing on needs, as opposed to wants. Not making your joy or happiness contingent upon your possessions is Minimalism, as possessions in this world are limitless, and failure to achieve them only brings unnecessary sadness.

A nice book to read, a laptop to work on, a phone so as to be in touch with your loved ones, a pair of sunglasses to protect your eyes from the scorching summer heat, and a watch to tell the time, isn't that all we need in the first place? These are the simple joys of life, the free flowing exuberance of a hassle free life.

A pair of jeans, and two simple t-shirts, I could spend my life with these, with the exception being a special occasion or the deterioration of the quality of these clothes. It's liberating, knowing that my possessions could be easily bundled up in a backpack, and I could go wherever I want to. It gives you time, space and money for the essential things. You spend more quality time with your family when you're a minimalist, you start working not for money, but for finding joy within the work itself, you go out with friends, not for validation but for a deep bond and love. Minimalism is all we need, to be at peace.
